2023 marks the fifth year of Revenera's Monetization Monitor series, first published in 2019. The popular reports focus on: software monetization models and strategies, software usage analytics, and software compliance and piracy. All reports in this year’s series are based on 454 responses to a global survey conducted by Revenera from April-July 2023.
Below is a brief snapshot of each report:
Monetization Monitor: Software Monetization Models and Strategies 2023
This report details the current practices of software producers, providing benchmarks to help technology companies navigate the need to effectively manage hybrid monetization and deployment models. It also illustrates the importance of usage data and analytics for clarity into how software is being used, and how to support innovative licensing strategies.
Monetization Monitor: Software Usage Analytics 2023
This second report evaluates best practices of those software suppliers who have the most practical approaches to software usage and analytics. It’s worth noting that while nearly all software suppliers now collect usage data (or plan to), many companies still have steps to take to reliably collect and evaluate this data so they can offer the consumption monetization models that are growing most rapidly.
Monetization Monitor: Software Piracy and Compliance 2023
The final report in the series considers the state of compliance and unlicensed use issues, offering insights as to how software suppliers can strengthen their initiatives. This report also incorporates aggregated data collected from Revenera's Compliance Intelligence customers. Today, as the push to capture recurring revenue grows, so does the need for proactive data-driven insights to help identify revenue leakage and prevent future losses.
