According to respondents to Revenera’s annual survey of software supplier, many suppliers aren’t aware of the scope of their revenue leakage, and misuse is the greatest cause of revenue leakage (responsible for losses of more than 30 percent of revenue).
IDC predicts that SaaS subscription revenue will see strong revenue growth through 2025, but that on-premises software will also see subscription revenue growth in this period. Software suppliers balancing SaaS growth and the long-tail of on-prem software need software monetization strategies that also include the conversion of revenue leakage from unlicensed use of software.
